Sara Ahmed (born 30 August 1969)[1] is a British-Australian writer and scholar whose area of study includes the intersection of feminist theory, lesbian feminism, queer theory, affect theory, critical race theory and postcolonialism.

Life
Ahmed was born in Salford, England on 30 August 1969.
She is the daughter of a Pakistani father and an English mother, and she emigrated from England to Adelaide, Australia with her family in the early 1970s.[5] Key themes in her work, such as migration, orientation, difference, strangerness, and mixed identities, relate directly to some of these early experiences.
