          Lawrence M. Thompson, 94, of Silver City passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Silver City Care Center.

          Entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  On Monday, February 26, 2018 at two o’clock in the afternoon he was buried at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with military honors.

          Lawrence was born on February 6, 1924 in Cass City, Michigan to Andrew Thompson and Cassie Humphrie.  He was raised in Flushing, Michigan along with six siblings.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

          Lawrence was very proud of his service and always carried a flag with him.  On August 27, 1959 he married Pauline Smitson in Santa Clara, NM and he worked at the copper mines as a laborer.   Lawrence also worked as a bondsman for the elderly at Fort Bayard Medical Center.  He was a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church.
